The Coal is a trio based in Athens, Greece. The band bring to light a unique approach that comes out of a comprehensive spectrum of influences, from classical music to jazz, rock, blues and ambient to melodies inspired by traditional mediterranean music. Together they investigate new musical paths through the creation of liminal spaces that redefine the limits between the genres while introducing us to a brand new territory that can best be described as avant folk. The concept may not be new, but The Coal manages to engage us in mysterious and innovative atmospheres. In the end we just want to listen to it again and again discovering, each time, new delightful peculiarities.
